beatonna:

We put out calendars in 2012, and so many people have asked for more!  I didn’t have time to put out a flip-book type calendar, so I thought I would make a poster one!  In the style of those tea towel calendars.  If I can source some tea towels, I’ll do that.  But a poster is good too!  I will let you know when it is in the shop!
I made Red Riding Hood sketches along these lines a while ago, and I like Dorito Person Red Riding Hood.
Just a little dorito, going to Grandma’s house.

Tom Wesselman

In 1983 Wesselman first began cutting his simplified, gestural ‘brushstoke’ images out of metal and then painting them.  These first metal pieces were cut by hand, and he invested in developing laser-cutting metal techniques.

"…in 1984 I started making steel and aluminum cut-out figures… One day I got muddled up with the remnants and I was struck by the infinite variety of abstract possibilities. That was when I understood I was going back to what I had desperately been aiming for in 1959, and I started making abstract three-dimensional images in cut metal."
